Definitely. Not "fully" counting a drawer on a register approval is really something retarded to get fired over or even written up for, especially since the whole store's money gets double-counted before the safe drop happens anyways. Looks like somebody's "looking" for a reason to fire you if it's been brought up.

i never count my co-workers' registers when approving and closing. i just click next and back and fill everything up to match and equal out. i know this is bad, but haven't been told not to do it yet.

I rarely count drawers at all, only if there is a sizeable amount of bills in the drawer where I know a mistake might be made. In addition, we usually only have one drawer in the store that has cash anyways. If I have to take cash from people for bill payments or the like, I just tell them they aren't getting change, and that any overpayment would just be credited to the next bill. If one wants to make an *exact* payment, either go online to pay or call and e-pay over the phone.

As long as the end-of-day safe drop equals the end-of-day OPUS report, there shoudn't be a problem. If your job is being threatened over this, you are working in a store location you probably shouldn't be working in anyways.

signing the end of day paperwork and is saying you counted and verified that everything was there... if you didn't actually do it then you are lying. some of my fellow coworkers also skip out on counting but i do it everytime or at least count a majority of the money in the register. Quite a few times they've actually been off and its a good thing I counted
