Yes I have confirmed that the BJ is infact insurable on new orders. The insurance covers everyting from loss to physical damage you just pay the premiums and a deductable.

Posted by: cjmedina

are they increasing the deductable?

Posted by: Jayden0606

That was what was in talks so they can have more PDAs insurable. They were going to make it like t-mobile. I have not heard anything in a very long time. I know the blackjack was going to get insured as one of the reps had promised one of my friends that through asurion (lockline at the time)

Will we be able to add the insurance via online account management?

Is this insurance for new orders only?

Posted by: Jayden0606

Insurance for blackjacks that are purchased within 30 days. Same rule applies.

there is a way att can put the insurance on your phone, i guess it just depends which customer service rep you talk to

Yep, it can easily be overridden and added.

Go on the website and add the phone insurance for 4.99 is that the same?

Yea, although I found that in most cases your almost better off without it.

You have 1 year manufactures warranty on all blackjacks. The deductible is $50. My wife had her Razr for a year and a half and dropped it on an elevator causing the battery to pop out of the phone and slide out the door falling into the elevator shaft.

Sure they replaced the entire phone (with a refurb)... but think about it. A battery costs less then $50. Plus think of all the months you spend $5. She had it for 18 months times 5 = $90 + $50 for deductible = $140. At that point razr's were dirt cheap she coulda bought a new one for that price.

I just assume replace them 11 months into it (before the warranty goes out). The blackjacks are being given away for free now-a-days. Plus if you do end up getting it stolen or ran over, just call CS and tell them your phone is gone. They may resist you, but why pay for service if you don't have a phone. They'll make you renew your 2yr contract but you'll get "new line" price (which is free for the blackjacks).
