so my curve broke and att care sent me a replacement. the replacement curve does not have a browser icon (or media net icon). if i receive an email with a link in it (and click on the link) i receive a message stating "your device does not currently have any browser configuration service book entries"

does anyone know how to fix this?

Before you even attempt to fix anything, give at&t a call. They will probably send you another (possibly new) one or give you some form of credit.

Same thing happened to me. Do a "register now" under options, advanced options, host routing table. And get newest version of desktop manager, and reload the handheld software, and you'll be fine.

go onto the bis website and resend the service books.

Happens to the Pearls, download the software and install, then connect your Curve and it should automatically update.

I'm having the same issue. Tried migrating my info over from my BB 7100i which I have w/ Nextel to my new BB 8310 w/ AT&T. Copied my contacts information over flawlessly but when it attempted to migrate my applications, I lost my browser icon as well as all the original AT&T "Shop Tunes"...icons. The latter of these doesn't break my heart any, I didn't really want them on there anyway. Just hoping to find a solution to restore my out of box software so I can start over. Tried wipe handheld through the phone, as well as through the desktop manager. Wipes applications, but does not bring back browser icon. Also missing the very important "Personal E-mail setup" icon. Desperately need these two back! Any help? I'm in a no service area at the moment, and as such have not tried the service books solution previously mentioned. Will this solve my e-mail setup issue as well?

If you are in a no service area right now, afaik there is no way for you to get back the browser icon and other network dependent feature icons because they are pushed down by the network. All registration can be done online via ATT's bis website by visiting mycingular.blackberry.com. You SHOULD first setup your new account (if yours is new with att) using bis site instead of using your bb because of the new bis 2.4 feature. It can save you a lot of time dealing with account/password issue that mentioned in some BB forums. Sending service book helps a lot in your situation.

what is the service book?

Posted by: PPCMD

The Service book sends information to your blackberry to update the phone settings etc. You need a BIS account with AT&T to do this.

Have you signed up for the BB data plan with at&t?

Posted by: syclonekid43

after more research last nght. i saw that was the problem. im gonna call today and see how much the plan is. but now whats gonna happen when i want to use my tilt on edge?

Posted by: celtictech

The BB BIS plan is $30 (no messages included) BIS is what you need if you don't need to connect to corporate email.
The BB plan will work fine in your tilt when you swap sim cards.

So the BB Personal Plan for $30 a month does come with text messaging. Can you still get push email for a pop server on the BB Personal plan?
