I do not know what 3G phone to get. I am considering the SYNC, Moto V3xx, and the A717. Which one would you recommend and why? Thanks in advance!

Scratch the SYNC off your list. The A717 and V3xx definitely do everything it does and more; or better. Personally, I'd recommend the V3xx because I'm a Motorola fan and it (the V3xx) has never let me down in call quality, reception, or build quality.

But others will be along shortly to give better reasons and opinions.

You don't need to get a RAZR2... it's not even available yet.

As Keiri mentioned, steer clear of the Sync... that phone is terrible.

The A717 is much more appealing, as is the V3XX.

ok so out of the a717 and the v3xx. which one is the better phone

Thats all personal preference!!!

I personally like the v3xx compared to the a717. Why? Because I like how it looks better. I like the color outside display and I love motorola's reception. But the a717 has its plus: 2mp swivel camera and thats all I can really think of.

I actually like the simplistic look of the A717.

The V3XX looks damn near identical to the original V3...

The A717 gets better battery life than the A707 (Sync), so that issue is put to bed.

Moto's are more customizable, but that's up to the user on what he/she decides to do.

The only thing missing from the A717, or the V3XX (or just about any phone nowadays) is a camera flash of some sort... be it LED or xenon.

That's why I bought my V6 maxx... I want to use the LED flash as a light when I need to... I don't carry flashlights around with me.

I plan on picking up an A717 shortly to see if I like it better than the Sync... I only had a Sync for about a week before I put it up on eBay.

I would have to go with the v3xx or the LG Trax. Only thing that bothers me about the Moto 3G phones is their lack of Qualcomm chipsets. Personally I like Moto, but the Traxx may be worth looking into. Escpecially if your novice, all you have to do to go in between networks is enter:

277634#*# or something like that

Also remember the V3xx is capable of HSDPA 3.6 (when it becomes available). The A717 and Trax are HSDPA 1.8 devices.

I have an N75 and it is UMTS not HSDPA. Max Speeds are barely above EDGE at best.

I know it does not have HSDPA. But for the price it's a nice phone.

Yeah it is nice. The screen is super large. BUT. I still dislike the Nokia interface. Even with themes and different icons it still feels, i dunno, outdated.

I guess I just prefer Moto..especially the new V8's Linux Java.

I liked the v3xx Platinum's I had. But the outer screen I could not read. Much nicer to read on my N75.

Ive have both, wife has the v3xx, the a717 has a better camera, screen (bigger and slightly brighter) louder earpiece and speaker, better battery life, and also is quadband, the v3xx is only triband, also the a717 is thinner,reception is about the same which is good thing.plus the a717 looks like no other phone at&t has.
