i am so pissed off at this phone, i missed so many important calls because i have 0 receiption in my house, no where in my house i can recieve a call, i can send calls but can not recieve them, i am soo pissed off, the only ever phone iv had that worked in my house has been data phones which are useless to me or fido phones, what the hell is goin on here, i am in a contract of 3 years and cant cancel it and my cell is my main use of phone, i need a qwerty cell phone for many text messages and messaging systems, im so sick of having calls drop at home or at work, and not recieving important calls after calls, no msg no nothing gets recieved i am so pissed off i am stranded on what to do , i just cant take it any more its soo irritating. is there something i can do with my phone to get it to get calls, or better receiption, or what the hell do i do, bell has my screwed over bad

works great everywhere i've used it. bell didnt screw you- you screwed yourself. Also, they have a 15 day buyers remorse where you ucould switch your phone- try that.
you even said it your self, nothing works at your house but FIdo and data devices..... maybe you should take your own advice(?)

Is it still 15 days or 15 minutes of usage, whichever comes first?

This phone made it all the way through the Thorold tunnel which is pretty impressive. The only other phone I've seen make through without dropping a call was my girlfriends blackberry but that's in its own league.

However at our house, in the basement I get very poor reception. Even in my car the other day near a Staples I was getting very bad reception. So I'd imagine it's Bell's network more than the phone.

Every phone i have had with bell has not worked in my basement. i have had to go out side or right by the door. while my girlfriend sits in the basement on the couch talking on her phone. Shes with Rogers and has a pretty crappy phone. So it kinda piss's me off. if it wasn't for the unlimited browser i d be gone.

I hear you all, I have a SPH-a920... and all the same problems as you, I dont think i've ever seeen my phone have more the 3 bars on the reception indicator. When i called bell, they said my phone was defective..GREAT... they are sending it for free repairs and what not...and giving me a loaner, but i'm not too optimisitic that my phone will really be fixed, I THINK IT'S THE BELL SERVICE...and yeah if it wasnt for unlimited browser.. and 400 cancel fee.. i'd be long gone. Not that rogers is really better... i left them to go to bell

Not sure why the OP signed a 3 year contract if he knew the phone/network wouldn't work where he needed it

to change the phone, the contract is still valid from the minute you leave the store.

you could always spend a few grand to put a repeater or booster in your house.

or switch to Fido/rogers if you get coverage with them only

Idunno, I havent had any coverage issues with Bell for the longest time. They've been great. I mean it could be that im on the 22nd story of a condo in the heart of North York with towers everywhere but... meh..

No complaints here. You can't expect cell service to work everywhere. I wonder where it is that people got the notion that a cell phone would work everywhere. No network is perfect and if its really that bad, buy out your contract, cuz if the calls youre missing are so important, $400 is a small price to pay considering you'll have to suffer with it for the next 3 years. Buyer beware, sometimes life lessons aren't cheap.

I have the U740 and its been great for me. I have reception in my basement but only 3 bars. I haven't had any dropped calls whatsoever, although sometimes i want a call dropped depending on who i'm on the phone with. But so far so good. Only disappointment i have with this phone is the bluetooth file transfer capability. Can't transfer mp3, videos, pictures through bluetooth. Hope they come up with a firmware update to fix that problem.

You should have known right at the get go if you have no reception at your home? you still had time 15days/15 mins to replace the phone with another, this is 'always' told and pointed out too me at the counter.

Here, I will save you the trouble. No service provider is going to guarantee you service everywhere 24/7. Especially inside you’re house, apartment, basement, mall or w/e place you are at. IT’S MOBILE NOT A LANDLINE. So stop you’re whining if ppl can’t reach while you’re at your house. Just call forward all you’re calls to you’re landline so you don’t miss any calls. End Thread.

A few grand ?!?! A Wilson Electronics wireless amplifier solution is between $500 and $1000 and will amplify no problem.

Exact same situation but reversed with the companies.
This is in Markham.

i guess they have come down in price last time i locked at them they were around 1500+tax.

but cancelation charge of 400 is still cheaper in the shortrun at least. but once you factor in cost of new phone i would say its about the same cost
