Blackjack Storage

I'm getting Storage Full messages on my Blackjack starting today. I deleted all my texts, which sucked, and I don't have any pics, music, or any programs on the phone. How can I tell what is taking up so much space? I don't have a storage card, and this issue just started.

Check the task manager, you may have a lot of programs running in the background using up memory.

Wirelessly posted (at&t's Samsung Blackjack: SAMSUNG-SGH-I607/I607FG1 Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows CE; Smartphone; 320x240))

Storage not ram he clearly said that. I have this problem to but I used SKTools Lite it clears a lot of storage. I had under a meg now I have 4 megs back. its freeware so its free.

Thanks, I'll try that program out.

Since I installed SK Tools Lite, I've had the same issue. Only this time, the storage is maxed out, and I have 0.00 left. What is going on with my phone? This is riduculous. I don't have anything on it.

ok, the phone basically doesn't function now because it's at capacity. I have whatever the phone came with, along with Facade, and SKTools. Can I delete Xpress mail if I don't have it set up? I read to delete cab files. Is it safe to do so?

Posted by: Da_G

cab files contain the installation routine for a program, you can safely delete them without causing any harm. Just know that if you remove that program from the phone later on and want to install it again, you'll need to get the cab again.

How do I view the files? Is this my issue? I can't imagine why all of a sudden i'm having storage issues. I can't do anything with the phone now without getting error messages and storage full messages. Very frustrating.

TTT
Anyone??

Posted by: KDuniverse

still dealing with this issue. does anyone have any ideas as to what to try?

This is weird. I had the exact same problem over the weekend with my Blackjack. All of a sudden I was getting low storage memory warnings and had 0 free. Previously, I thought I had over 25 mb free since I don't have much installed in main storage. Rebooting didn't work. I finally hard reset the device and restored from a recent backup, but then I was still only having only 5 mb free. I hard reset again and this time just re-installed the few programs I had (and of course had to re-set up my e-mail, bluetooth and other settings) and now I am back to 25 mb free.

KDuniverse, are you using your phone to check your e-mail through the POP3 client? If so, even though the mail is deleted from the program, it still resides on the phone in \Windows\Messaging.

I had the same problem too... What I found was that I had to go into Internet Explorer and clear out my temp files. That gave me quite a bit of storage back.

If you don't know: Go into IE, then Menu, Options, Memory, Temp Files, Clear

Yea Messaging and IE Temp Cache are big takers of space.

SKTools is nice but it bugged out on my blackjack running WM6.

SKTools is buggy on my WM5. Sometimes after running it, there's no difference in storage space. My emails are through POP3, but are deleted daily.

So where is everyone storing contacts? What are you storing on the bj and what is on the storage card?

Posted by: KDuniverse

contacts are on the phone because the sim only allows for one number per contact. no storage card. Basically, the sim is useless. correct?

That is something that dissapoints me. Coming from an LG CU500 that allowed more than one number per contact + an email address to be stored on the sim has spoiled me more than I'll probably ever know.

The BJ doesn't even support storing an email address for a contact on the sim card! What's with that?!
