question on A22 Nosound and sound.

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: bsre950

if I am using a22 no sound f/w now..can i flash back to a22 sound f/w??can I do that?? ..and will it delete my phone and setting in the phone??

Posted by: lost_rebel

No it will not delete your settings. If you have the A22 firmware, then you can flash it back at will

Posted by: GD87 Master

Why would you want to change it back?

Posted by: lost_rebel

probably concerned that it may have broken something else, and just wants to be able to restore it. My quess and a reasonable question

Posted by: bsre950

don't know...just had this question came up to head...... haha...

but I just done it last night..flash back to a22 it's staill works....

Posted by: new87

Very funny,
i had A 19, flashed to A22, then to A22 no sound, got fed up and was missing the sound, flashed back to A 22 WITH sound, then we discovered A 39, with and without sound, tried both and again flashed back to A 22 with sound. The reason was, and this was the only reason, that A39 is merging the phonebooks and displays both phone and sim at the same time, no way to choose!!! Also the menus were changed and i had my good old habits. I hate the no sound version, anyway people see that you shoot a picture!!!!

Will flash to A 51 tomorrow, if the phonebook problem is still there, i again will go back to A 22, ultimately, it is the best version !!!

Posted by: GD87 Master

I have GAD87A39_NOSOUND.REL, can i just flash it on Winmodo like i did with A22NOSOUND.REL?

Posted by: new87

Nooooooooooooo!

You need another software to reset the phone after flashing. It's called CB 2000. You also need a special cable, not the regular data cable for CB 2000.

If you flash only GAD87A39_NOSOUND.REL and not the language pack your menus will be upside down. Once flashed your phone will not start and blick for ever if you do not reset with CB 2000.

Posted by: GD87 Master

I have CB2000 and a USB Cable and a Serial Cable.

Can you tell me what i have to do with CB2000?

Thank you.

Posted by: new87

when A 39 flash is finished, don't switch on the phone, tape off ( isolate) the 4th and the 10th connect of the phone, connect the com data cable and run CB 2000. Go to ??? write / and click full reset, that's all.

You can now unplug the phone and start it.

Do you understand or read french? if yes this link will help you a lot ( many pictures)

http://nosens.free.fr/gd87/gd87.htm

Posted by: GD87 Master

It seems to easy...

I just don't want to loose all my settings...

I think i will stick with A22 for the moment.

Posted by: lost_rebel

CB2000 is suppose to backup all of the usersettings

Posted by: new87

Not the version we have. What we have can only reset after A39 upgrade, all other functions are bugged or don't work. Do not try ANY other function of CB 2000 other than the reset, you risk to crash your phone.

The flash + reset only erase the phonebook in the phone. You can backup you numbers and agenda before flashing with Edit tools. Flashing does not touch your pictures, backgrounds or sounds.

All other settings are so easy to input. Take good note of all your wap and gprs settings ( IP, APN, etc...) else all other setings take 5 min.

Posted by: lost_rebel

How do you know that the CB version is bugged unless you have tried every function? Why would Pana release service software for their mobile that does not work?

Posted by: new87

Because we are 2500 forum members and we tried it, several burned the phone, lost it all, impossible to switch on,....Remind you that CB 2000 is Panasonic internal use only, the version we have is cracked and "stolen", we even suspect pana to have lead us deliberately to download a "on purpose" bugged version.

Anyway we don't need the other color change, or tweak function, only need it to reset the phone after flashing A 39

Posted by: lost_rebel

Which forum is this that has 2500 members using cb2000? I suspect, that in fact, it was put out by panasonic along with instructions on do's and don'ts...Not hacked at all! I am not impressed. If you had hacked it, then you should be able to figure out more about the mobile than you have. Take that back to your 2500 members.

I am glad, that it has got released so that people can upgrade from pre A38 releases, That is most useful especially since I do not get the software to upgrade, just the upgrades themselves. But the cool thing is all of my user settings and files are always restored when I get it back.

Works great for me... works fine for all those who have their EEPROM unlocked and want to make changes to their phones.

However I'd like to find a way to unlock my EEPROM without having to de/resolder it... and even if I was to do the latter I wouldn't be able to open the phone in the first place

Posted by: lost_rebel

Well the 2500 people working on hacking CB2000 should be able to find a way to do that for you

Just exactly what do you mean by unlocking the EEProm? What are your trying to accomplish by doing that?

Posted by: new87

Lost -rebel, the forum is the one you never accepted to help. I would be very astonished to see Panasonic releasing an internal repair software to the public. We have head a lot of paranoia from your side but never followed by any proof, facts or actions. I double checked, we actually have 3800 registered members, we - all alone on our own - found CB 2000, as well as the first release of edit tools 1.4, the A22, the A 39 ( not A 38 pre-release), the language packs and even amended the BIOS to remove the anoing camera sound. All done in "old europe", from your side we have seen nothing, heard only show-off and bla-bla, not one single of your posts contribute or bring anything, only words and critics...no proofs. Save your energy or contribute positively, not only, " i have", "i know" , "i did", never followed by a single action, help, share or contribution, only bull sh.t!!! Better not to say anything than stupidities that mislead less knowledgeable users.

Get Tetris

Posted by: devis

Appart from the harshness of his post, I agree with new87. Also, what you folks may not know is that another french guy has decoded the entire firmware, thus allowing for many things to come our way. First order of business seems to be the changing of the icons. I most likely will have my hands on that by next week... hopefully

Posted by: new87

FYI, our forum found the bios, cracked it, we can change the colors, remove the sound, acces plain html internet pages, resize the pictures, increase the sound level, have the outer display in white, pink, purple or pink, change the type and location of the icons, etc...and many more things. After we found A 39 and the CB 2000 we had 330,500 hits on our forum the first day and 220,000 the second day, we had to temporary close the site.

It's not lost-i know it all - rebel that will teach us a lesson!!!!
Specialy after the no-help , no contribution he gave us when he was showing off with his A38 or A 39 and refused / denied any help.

I start wondering if he has ever seen a GD 87?

Posted by: devis

Remeber those old Euronews reports... No Comment

BTW, been away from europe for a long time... do they still have the No Comment reports?

Posted by: new87

Yes they do have them. They are the best because you can invent your own comments.
BTW, forgot to tell you that we also managed to unlock the hidden JAVA function in the BIOS, we can now download and run any java program ( game or other) on our GD 87...

Where is lost - mythomaniac - rebel, did he faint or lost is voice ?

Posted by: new87

Devis, LOL, i see that you have a GD55 too, me too, great phone isn't it ? When i take my 55, I keep it in my coin wallet, when it rings, people are astonished to see me grab my wallet and look for my phone among my coins ( Euros of course).

Posted by: devis

ummm is that right? well, share i'll be happy to have some java stuff in my phone.

Posted by: devis

and some more details would be appreciated... did I mention I have some french friends hehehehe

I simply love the GD55... so small... I use the neck strap and it hangs on my chest everywhere I go. Of course the GD87 is with me too... got to keep that camera handy but that goes in the little jeans pocket.
So far the GD55 has been a great conversation starter... people stop me in stores, in the street and ask me, is that a real phone hehee it's great. BTW... do u guys have anything for it besides the language changing files?

Posted by: new87

i bought mine in Sigapore when i was there last month. This phone is not sold in Europe. Sorry nothing here.

Posted by: lost_rebel

Boy have I missed a lot on my commute home from work...Oh yeah, I have a real job too. I do not need to defend myself against your useless accusations. Afterall you probably speak dutch. In the meantime, those that I have thrown help to know it but I have always chosen to remain anonymous in the help I give. I believe that I had put out the information on A51 and quelled rumors on what it did or did not do a few days before anyone else. I have responded to all requests to see pics off of my mobile. I can not help it that I am just not a hacker of your caliber. But if you decoded so much, why have you not been able to store/restore the user settings?
I appreciate the work that many have done in getting this stuff out to the general public but you, well I suspect that you contribute jack and just take the credit for what others have done before you.
I do not need for the world to know what I have done. Those that count know.
You can either take my knowledge or leave it, frankly I do not care.
Cheers

Let's not get off topic with these comments about employment or assumed lackthereof... not everyone is as lucky as to fight traffic every morning and afternoon... I for once don't have to do that as I work from home. The only traffic I have to fight is sunday morning church rush hours when I do my sunday morning relaxed drive around town.

Anyhow... as far as taking credit, I don't think anyone is taking credit for anything here. I've been sent many requests for software upgrades, i've accomodated most of them, and at times provided guide via MSN or yahoo messenger. I am just the messenger and not the maker. I do appreciate the fact that someone out there is taking time to search and create, making this phone a very cool and exciting object to have. I do appreciate the help you have given, but maybe not every piece of advice should come with a "Disclaimer" That I think is the point new87 is trying to make. We know we can ruin our phones, we are responsablie for our own actions and decisions.

So now... anything new in the JAVA horizon

New87 give us some more info please... i'd love to know more.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH woo hoo!!!!! Good news for the GD87 users! I like all those new things you've mentioned...maybe I'll wait a little longer for those new phones. I wish I can read french!
JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

Posted by: devis

@confused69u

I sure did... man.. that is a conversational piece, a cool phone, a small phone, a light phone, a loud ringtone phone, an ornament, a make everyone jealous phone, i love it...

But still, I love the T68 more

Resize the pictures? Are you referring to the thumbsize picture caller ID? If so can you post pics or show some of the us guys over here how to do that?

OK, you have talked the talk....Now walk the walk. Let's have the Java. Until then, there is nothing you have offered that is not toggled by CB2000, other than the no shutter sound hack.....Which I might add was pretty good.

Also, I never claimed to know it all. I have only passed along what the Pana engineers have told me. I have never claimed otherwise. I have passed almost all of the information that I have been given. I have always resonded to any help request that I can. What more would you like me to do??

Blimey!

Come on lets hear more details about this Java and the other stuff new87.

I might just get a GD55 as a second phone, is it Tri-Band?

Cool!

Posted by: Guy

A39 No sound

GD55 is triband, but on many of them (maybe all) th voicemail icon does not work.... At least in the US. I have 3 friends with them, 2 on Tmo and 1 on AT&T and none of them get a voicemail icon, just a SMS message- Tmo is completely empty and AT&T at least tells you how many VMs you have.

Posted by: devis

Actually, I get SMS messages which state how many VM messages I have. If I have a VM that I haven't heard yet and a second VM comes in, I get a SMS stating that I have two VM messages. This happens with T-Mobile on both my GD87 and GD55.

The only thing I found not to work so well with the GD55 was the band selector. If I used the 1900/900 choice the other party would hear their own voice be it on handheld or speakerphone mode. After I changed that to the 1900 choice the problem dissapeared.

Posted by: devis

Using CB2000 you can choose whether to have Infusio games or A39 games. Unfortunately since I have EEPROM locked I cannot choose that function.

Posted by: lost_rebel

OK, I think I understand now. The lock is not a hardware thing, it is a software thing as I understand it and it has to do with the configuration storage memory allocations. As opposed to the prom where the firmware is retained. I know people are managing to get around it because they need to in order to upgrade to A38+. Possible CB2000 has this functionality? I would PM Cyclonefr about it. I am pretty sure he knows how to beat that lock.

Posted by: devis

I'm in contact with him via MSN, he hinted something about it but not much... and he's in vacation this week so...
