s40: unable to delete sms msgs after 10/20 msgs have been stored

The message icon is now flashing and sms message could no longer be removed (option is NOT there). Looks like, if one delete clean up received sms message before reaching the internal limit (10?20?), the delete option is gone? (a bug?). Called CSR and suggested to go to a shop with tech on-site.

Anybody out there with similar problem? Any other way to clean it up without the sim reader? I suspect with a sim reader, the stored messages should be able to delete with ease.

Reset the phone (see manual).

Since the phone books and the sms messages should be on the sim. Can I assume, after resetting, all the entries will come back?

Messages, plain and own numbers are stored on the SIM. Anything else (address book, message drafts, events, custom ringtones) will be gone. Use my program BUS40 to backup and restore all data in the phone memory:
