blackjack bluetooth syncing issue

ok I had this working at one time but I can't figure out what I did to get it working all I know is now it isn't
I have a windows vista box with a zonet bluetooth usb dongle

I have their software installed and I can see / pair / serial connect with the blackjack but I can't get it to sync or create a new partnership
whats the first step to getting this done right?
