Razr V3 07?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: HelloRobo

Does anyone know what the RAZR V3 07 is? It's apparently an update to the original RAZR that AT&T still insists on carrying. T-Mobile is getting the RAZR V3 06, which is the regular RAZR updated with EDGE ('06, indeed ). Is the RAZR V3 07 a 3G version of the original RAZR?

In any case, apparently only the black and pink V3s are making the jump. There's no SKU for a silver V3 07, and the blue RAZR vanished from AT&T's site some time ago.

The razr v3 05 is the most current model of the base razr, and is branded with the new at&t logo. I have not heard about the v3 07.

ah they need to make A silver one. put the v3xx`s guts into a regular silver v3s body and i would buy one. i still love the original v3s form factor and the metallic silver color

Expected release date for the V3 07 is Mid Sept.

Probably just a newer version of the V3 05... minor changes maybe.. .nothing major.

Ho hum... N.B.F.D.

Why would ATT discontinue one of there best sellers? I mean yeah we (howardforum members) all have the latest and greatest but its still people out there that dont care about what the phone does just that it works and the V3 has been excellent at just working.

because the phone just plain sucks. and because the v3xx would replace it as their best seller. if they replaced the v3 volume with v3xx it would probably cost even less than it is now! the v3 should have been dropped a long time ago.

I was just gonna say... why bother with a new V3 if there's the V3xx?

Also, I wonder if the V3 07 will have a 262K color, 320x240 screen inside like the V3xx? Or the updated OS?

To us yeah it should have been discontinued alongggggg time ago and we should have been had the maxx or some other phone, but to the average consumer who doesnt want bells and whistles, doesnt want a phone that could power your computers internet wit DSL like speeds, why not keep it around? Yes the V3xx is a hell of a lot better and i wouldnt dare ever use anything lower than a v3xx but there are still a lot of people who are using phones that are not on par wit the v3 and who dont care about what it does as long as it does the basic thing its suppose to do and thats place a call and thats what the v3 does best, why its still around when others phones have been long discontinued, so why not keep shove'n it down the average consumers throat?

Because The v3xx does those basic things average joe uses a lot better for what would be the same price.

Like what reception? they are about the same, wit the exception of 3G sounds better... but still has some hand off issues not nearly as bad as it was once. So we would put this in every customers hands and have them say AT&T is getting worse wit dropped calls not understanding technology takes time The average joe does not text/IM or surf the internet from his phone and half the people i deal wit on a daily are happy wit pictures you and i would laugh at because its no were near clear like the v3xx or v9, so why not keep a phone that you could offer for free until you get the 3G network rock solid? Something you can hand a customer and not have him come back and say "this thing drops calls were my v551 never did" or "the battery life on this thing is unacceptable" I guess ill never see your point and you'll never understand mine... so ill just agree to disagree wit you

I agree. We are all on this forum for a reason, we love phones and always like to have the latest and greatest, but you have to remember, the average customer is just looking for a plain and simple phone, maybe with a camera and bluetooth. The RAZR fits that well. Not EVERYONE cares about megapixel cameras, 3G, or QVGA screens.

just my .02

Actually i recently did a comparison between the v3 and v3xx. The v3 was a bran new black model as well. I found that there was a clear advantage in rf performance. The v3 would either drop the call or the audio would completly drop out until it got a better signal. The v3xx performed flawlessly in the same situation. This is in a 2g only area btw. Also did some testing with weak 3g signal, the v3xx performed just as good as if on gsm. I pulled almost 8 miles from the tower on umts, not bad. However its primary flaw is its inability to handoff from umts to gsm reliably. They should sell a cheap 2g only version.

The V3 is the cheap version of the v3xx until they get that handoff thing down. This is the point im trying to make to you. Until they get the 3G, 2G thing down pat i believe the V3 will stay for awhile longer.

again!!?!? come on At&T. get rid of the damn RAZR, keep the v3xx, and get on with releasing some NOkia phones. I mean when you were At&T wireless, you had tons of randon brands, like NEC, siemens, and Panasonic. I even remember seeing a SE p800i for sale once.

Posted by: zephxiii

the v3 is not any version of the v3xx, the v3 is just old.

Posted by: FidoFan

The V3xx IS a version of the V3 though. It's in the model name after all!
