hey guys i need your help here

i am trying to decide which phone i should get, both phones have similar functionalities ...... with the exception of HTC TouchFlo and P1i's rocker keyboard

also, P1i has the 3.2 MP camera with auto focus, and the touch has only the 2 MP cam with no flash .....

both phones got pretty much what i want in them, with similar price range, which one should i take

P1i because its cool looking and thin. The touch is awesome also but its a little thicker and it has less mb and no flash so just get the P1i.

I got tired of the keyboard-less entry, so I'd opt for anything with keys, hence P1. plus 3.2mp cam is good

P1i since it has a keypad. Better camera is a big plus.

yeah, the P1 has tons of issues. deciding between a WM phone and the P1 is like choosing between being shot and being stabbed.

the P1 got a "not recommended" rating:

Conclusion

The Sony Ericsson P1 has tortured me. I wanted to like it. I expected to like it. It has a great spec sheet, it is good looking, and it fits ever so easily into even the smallest of pockets. Yet, I do not like the P1. I've had too many problems with the device. WiFi has been a constant issue and the lack of EDGE support makes that all the worse. The disappearing inboxes are vexing, and the Exchange ActiveSync support is not quite up to snuff. Worst for me, perhaps, is that the menus and applications are simply too difficult to navigate without using a stylus. The scroll-wheel has proven itself inadequate, and the deep set on-screen softkeys are inconvenient - at best.

The end result is that I cannot recommend the P1. There are just too many devices on the market that are faster, easier to use, and have fewer problems. Few devices can offer the combination of an auto-focus camera and a QWERTY keyboard, but unless that combination is the only thing that will satisfy you, there are many devices that do messaging, multimedia, and mobile web browsing better than the P1.

Not Recommended

Pros: Compact form factor, auto-focus camera, reasonable QWERTY keyboard, great battery life
Cons: Messaging issues, WiFi problems, no EDGE/HSDPA, tri-band GSM only, slow CPU, questionable UI organization

what issues are you refering too? most of his issues are habits... adn his wifi wasn't working properly for some reason.. if you read through the other forums.. the wifi has been a hit of miss..for wpa and wep... mine seems to work fine for everything so far...

lol looks like this guy can't adapt to UIQ3... i think he's the first reviewer to give it such a poor score..

the p1i isn't perfect.. there are issues with the mailbox that should be addressed... (the constant refreshing.. is one thing that he mentions..) but otherwise i've had no issues with it...

i do think it would work better with a 5 way scroll or a dpad... but i've gotten quite good at using the touchscreen with my fingers... infact i never use the pen at all...

UIQ3 can be quirky and i don't think everyone can adapt to it... mainly cause we've been accustomed to using hardkeys for so long..
