I'm enjoying my stock headphones

I had shures, they are badass. I sold it with my 80gig ipod though. I don't think it was worth the near 200 bux.

I won like an ipod pack from compusa for xmas so i just sold it to a friend for 100 bux, I wouldn't have kept it anyways, too expensive but MAN were they comf.... the stock iphone ones hurt my ear (i have small ear holes I guess lol)

I've seen mods where people used the stock wire, along with the mic, and grafted on a better set of earbuds. I don't love the Apple supplied buds either but I don't want to lose the mice and clicker so I am considering this.

eh? I didn't even know the iphone buds at those (I haven't used them yet lol)

yeah, that would make sense wouldn't it lol

edit: wow couldn't really tell that was a mic and a clicker.

ya see, thats why this apple **** is so damn expensive, the things they design are just pure genius

I haven't even used the mic or clicker? Anyway the mic is obviously for handsfree talking, but what does the clicker do?

Posted by: JerryNY

The clicker, which is integrated into that mic on the headphone wire, allows you to click and take a call w/o taking the iPhone out of your pocket. When listening to music with the earbuds and a call comes in the music will fade and you hear a ring. You can click to take it. When just listening to music one click will pause and a double click will advance to the next track. I find it pretty useful which is why I don't want to get another set of buds until I can get a set that has similar functionality.

there are no other phones with the same functions) that sucks! Anybody perform the transtion to another set off buds usin the same wire. What did you do splce the wire? Post instructions

this i did not know... thnx!

how clever.... very cool... i knew about the 1-click to pause, not this...

one step further would when listening to music and it fades when a call comes in, would be if a digitized voice said what call (either name or number if not in your contacts) is coming in... and also voice dialing for truly keeping the iphone tucked away.... maybe in the next rev....

some really nice headphones (which lack the clicker feature) and are slightly on the biggish and truly expensive side... are the latest Bose noise cancelling phones (these are the on-ear... smaller than the over-ear models).... sadly i can't see spending $300 on those in my near future (maybe xmas )

cheers

Yeah this is one of the few things I miss from my Nokia N73 (and s60 based phone). It has speaker independent (no need to train) voice dialing, and if you were using a headset would speak the caller name to you so you don't have to look at the phone and you can only answer the calls you want to take

pretty sick, just followed the youtube vid on modifying the oem headset. i used the buds off my w810i headset and it sounds great! before this i was also using some sony performance earbuds which i trimmed the rubber on the connector to make it fit the narrow hole of the iphone. thanks to this forum we dont have to buy that ugly belkin adapter or buy expensive shure headphones.

DIY mods FTW!

I just ordered these. They're the only ones I know of with the clicker.

Try these. It is the best possible solution so far. Here is the link to the thread.
