Curve vs. Komet (Pearl 2)

Well.... I thought the iPhone would be the last device I got for a long time, but I was wrong. I am thinking of selling my Curve to get the Komet when it's released. The reason being is that the Komet is a lot smaller and the camera is said to be 3.2MP. SureType is nothing that bothers me and I actually grew to love it. After the iPhone, I think that's my 2nd favorite in respects to the keyboard. I use it for work as my COU.

How many people think the Komet is worth switching too? I honestly don't use my Curve much and when I do I feel it may just be too wide at times if I clip of iPhone on to my belt.

I've been reading up on the Komet and I see similar features that are on the Curve, but in a smaller package. Pros and Cons anyone?

I know it's a bit early to be putting them against each other....

Thanks in advance.

If you really want the better camera get the Komet. BUT, the camera with more pixels will not make up for the poor lens they put on these things.

It is all about what is important to YOU!

Just cause they can make devices smaller does not make them more friendly to use! I want a keyboard and do not mind the size of the 8800. Could care less about a camera. Thats just me!

I loved the Pearl's size and keyboard. I was just not ready to switch to a ball at the time as I was in love with my 8700c until the Curve came out.

I have the pearl and love it, but I have to get the curve when t-mo launches it. My main reason for going with the curve over the pearl is the bigger display, and a lot of the enhancements that it will bring. When it comes to camera quality, 2.0 or 3.2 doesn't really make a difference unless the 3.2 has autofocus (like my k790a ) Without AF they are practically the same thing to me. If the pearl 2 and curve offer the same features its just gonna come down to whether you want the bigger dispaly with full keypad, or do you want the smaller display with smaller size. I am really curious to how much better the improved keypad is on the pearl 2 is going to be. I don't like how squishy my pearl keypad is, so hopefully the new one will be as nice as the 8800 and curve. When they are both available I'd have to play with both of them and decide which one I like more.

You know, there's a huge myth about megaixels with all digital pickup devices; more is not better. you can have a 5 megapixel and a 2 side by side and may not be able to discern any image difference. A lot of it has to do with the lens (as some said earlier) but more has to do with the physical size of the CCD. Simply put, you just can't compare a larger CCD (like one in a Canon EOS 1-n) to a tiny one (like what's in most phones) no matter how many megapixels it claims to have. That's basically hype.

Want the best pictures from a cell phone cam? Shoot in gobs of low contrast light and oh yeah, make sure you're cleaned the pocket lint off your lens.

Hmmm...I thought I had read at BGR or Engadget that the upcoming Pearl 2 devices camera was still 2MP, not the 3MP people had hoped for.

There's not enough information on this to make an informed discision
