I think that line in of itself says something.

Well i guess ill be the first to post a rumor: I heard that the n95 will have the cure to aids embedded withing it, also it will be able to walk on water.

Posted by: ATnt-RSC

The N95 has been pitched to AT&T by Nokia, but the hold up is being able to subsidize it to a price that customers will pay for, yet still letting AT&T profit off it.

Posted by: classylady78

I heard from our Nokia rep it will probably be next year and cost $600-750.

Posted by: biofilter69

yeah, i hope we was quoting the out right price cause no one is going to pay that when they can buy an iphone for the same price or less, i would rather have the n95 but from a consumers point of view that looks like a bum price for a phone.

Posted by: ~X~

For reals. I've been waiting for this phone to come to a U.S. carrier for a while and while I'm glad that Nokia pitched it to AT&T it sucks that they might place it in the $600 range. Although it is a better phone than the iPhone many other consumers won't see it that way. They'll have the mindset "No touch screen, no care" haha....

really... even at $400 or less I won't mind picking one up to replace my 6682

i love this phone and have been waiting on it to come here.. i know the fcc has approved it or something like it for the US recently and i know u can buy it off of dell's website for something like $700 but id rather wait til its in our store and buy it cheaper haha

I'll pick one up if its around $400-$450. For a n95 with 3G thay actually works in the states thats not too bad. I know Macmall.com has it for $598.99 but they don't say whether its the US version or not.

Considering the US 3g version just got approved I would imagine the version they are selling is the older one.

Posted by: liquidplatinum

Most likely. Hopefully it'll be released soon (3-4 months).

I sincerely hope that att does NOT pick this up. The last thing we need is another great phone crippled by carrier branding (N75 anyone?).

If att leaves it alone like they did the iphone, I'm all for it -

Posted by: liquidplatinum

Haha. I came over from VZW so I'm practically numb when it comes to carrier branding.

Heck if AT&T wants to subsidize this phone I'm all for it! Nothing a little unlocking/reflashing cant fix.

Posted by: RogerPodacter

exactly. you can always debrand it. or just buy it directly from nokia. that US 3G HSDPA is soooo tempting.

<in my best "Borg" voice>

"Greetings, brand new cellular phone model. We are Verizon. You will now be assimilated. You will take on our red-screen menus and half-***** phone capabilities or you will be liquidated. Resistance is futile. Do you wish to comply?"

Posted by: RogerPodacter

god i get sick thinking about the fact that verizon not only makes every phone UI identical, regardless of manufacturer. but the even worse is the fact that 99.9% of verizon customers probably dont even notice or know the difference of why that sucks!!

Posted by: liquidplatinum

Excuse the ignorance, but I was looking on eBay at the n95's for sale on there and some of them say US version in the item description. WTF is up with that? Just bs?

Posted by: JP Whoregan

well, apparently WalMart is already selling it in the states if you're willing to drop 7 bones on it...so there must be a few cruising around somewhere...

I do not think the ones being sold in the states are "really" 3G. I had seen a review comparing the N95 to the iphone and they were saying how the phone was rated for 3g in Europe but not the states. So if someone is willing to drop the $700 they can, but they aren't getting 3G here in the USA until Nokia and AT&T release it.

I don't believe anything that Ebay sellers are saying. They said they unlocked the Iphone before that kid really unlocked it.

Posted by: ~X~

They want $700 with a contract? If that's so then screw that. I mean I like this phone and all but I guess I'll stick to my 6682 until the price drops a bit.

PhoneScoop announced it at $699

Posted by: RogerPodacter

thats the official price for the US version?

There's no dumb 30-60 day exclusivity agreement is there? You know, like the one that held up sales of the unbranded version of the N75 because Cingular took so long to approve it?

I have no interest in a branded N95 but I'd gladly pick up an unbranded one the day they are available. It would be nice if that day doesn't get pushed back because some provider can't get its act together approving the device.

Posted by: RogerPodacter

what a shame it will be if the n95 is delayed while some carrier gunks it up. oh the humanity!
