Which city/state are you in?? Salaries vary state by state. I love my job but there will always things to love (fantastic benefits) and things to hate. Give us a little more info about where you might be working.

THE call center? Like, teh supa ultra mega call center?

Tell us where you're at and we'll help.

Posted by: CA

Verizon has a new call center about 10 miles from me and they are advertising 12 bucks/hour to start. They're all probably the same.

Maybe he means Lubbock? I heard they're THE call center haha... really, it depends what city and state and if it's internal or outsourced.

YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH! Lubbock is the worst place EVAR. That and they start off at like, $9/hr.

I work at the warranty department in Phoenix AZ. It starts at $11 but after your tenure you can go to $12 and make bonus, and then you can also go to $13.50 if you are a good agent and you can then get a higher bonus rate.

Lubbock TX, is customer care and all of their primary sub departments, like tech support, recievables management, ect.

I know most of the primary ones.

RM is in Midland, Texas.. actually.

And the Lubbock center, where I use to work, only has Tier II, customer care, EON, Save Team, Combined Bill, Bilingular Customer Care & Save, E-mail Team, Direct Fullfillment, Returned Mail team, High-Level Adjustments, Transfer of Service... And I think that's it.

And working in Lubbock I started out at $10.34 an hour and went up a WHOLE .50 after 6 months.

Also...Lubbock is a dry city. no booze. And you also switch depts. every few months. Like, if you are working customer care, in 3 months, you might be in EON.

Sucks the county being dry and having to drive out to the strip for booze. That place does look like a cheap version of Vegas on the weekend.

And sometimes you don't get a choice when they move you. You'll be in customer care on week and come back on Monday and find out you're being moved to save. That happened to me anyway and I'm still pissed about it. I quit now though, so screw tem and driving all the way to N. University every day.

Oh yeah, I know. We complain about it often in my dept.

OMG!! How do people live there without booze!!! Glad I am in A-town and can walk into a 7-11 to buy a beer if I want one. Not that I drink. Well, not the yellow beer at least. Give me a nice stout or a hard drink.

At least my call center only takes care calls, and we aren't forced to work in the PMC department unless we volunteer to switch jobs.

Complain about what?

Posted by: Wiggum

probably about having to take different call types. if she's in paramus it rarely happens.

Posted by: NukuCamui

nah, there are a lot of complaints about people switching depts and us (in my dept.) not being told about it.

Yeh, that's why I quit a few weeks ago. I went on vacation back at the end of April and was Customer Care and when I came back they were like 'Ohh.. you're getting moved to Save, and here's your new schedule working 12-9'.

So I fought that and got moved back to Customer Care but they did it again only with Combined Bill this time so I just quit... And the lol part about this, is both times it happened I went to the Union about it and I filed grievances but nothing ever came of any of it. SO, don't join unions, invest your monies and $401K

I'm in Portland, OR and our main function is receivables management, we have cash ops, and pay fraud with us in the building. Most of the new RM reps are starting out at $11.xx per hour right now.
