Ok, so I just got on AT&T, and I have a 8525. In the instructions, it says the G symbol means GPRS, which is what my phone is showing. Now my wife has an iPhone, so I know EDGE is available in my area.

My internet speeds seem pretty decent, and via pcpitstop.com, I'm in the 100+k speed range. The salesman also said I'm using edge, but I'm not showing an "E" like I'm supposed to be.

Can someone explain this to me? Am I using Edge or not? Do I have a setting in my phone incorrect?

because you are using the Cingular branded rom for the 8525 am i correct?
