Found A New BT Solution By Motorola Anyone Heard Of It ?

Hey All

I was out at Samsclub today looking for the Xlink in store and came across a new BT unit that I wondered if anyone else had seen or used. It is by Motorola and the model number is SD7565-2. I took some pics which I tried to attach but could not get them small enough (does it really only accept 14k jpgs ?). It's price was $149 and it states that it is 5.8ghz with answering machine. It comes with two handsets and a separate BT box. Let me know if you've come across it as these things have hardly any reviews. I may pick one up and give it a whirl while awaiting the Xlink.

Just looked at Motorolas web site and this is classed as the C51 system for those that want to check it out. Obviously different model numbers than Sams but looks pretty cool with all the extras you can add on.

Apparently, the price depends on the location of your SAM's club. In Saint Louis, the price is 148. In Secaucus NJ, the price is 104. Go figure ??

I cannot find this item on the Moto web site; I wrote and asked about it, and I will post the answer here, if and when I get a reply.

Today, I received the following reply from Motorola:

<<I understand that you are trying to find the SD 7565-2 on our website. I will be happy to assist you with this issue.

Are you getting the model number of SD 7565-2 off of the box or the bottom of the base unit? The reason that I am asking is because we do not have a model number that is exactly like that. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.

We do, however, have a model number of SD 7561-2, if that could possibly be it.>>

Maybe the SD7565-2 was packaged especially for SAM's club, which it why it does not appear in the Motorola inventory.

so did we ever get any feedback on this unit? Are these messages date stamped? I saw this at Sam's today 3/27/08 and was looking for a review as well....

Thanks - Bill

No answer as yet from Moto on this. (3/28/08 10:00 PM.) But the bloke on eBay answered me thusly:

<<It is exactly the same unit you saw at Sam's. That is probably the reason you can not find the model on Moto's site. Sam's will get specially packaged units in that are specifically packaged or bundeled for them. Since Sam's is the only retailer to get this specifically packaged item the don't bother listing the model on their site. In any case...it's the same unit you saw at Sam's.>>

So, maybe it's worth a go at the eBay price of $ 80.00 plus shipping. Item number: 300194328474
