Dash CID unlock?

My dash was unlocked by someone for me by calling T-mobile and asking for the code. This means its not CID unlocked right? Is there a way to do that with out shelling out 40$ for the full unlocking options available online? I want to install a unbranded firmware.

Currently there is no free solution. Some people at XDA Forums are just starting to work on a free solution. Until then the only way to CID unlock is to pay to have it done.

I'm in the same boat. I want to install unbranded firmware too. Guess I'll have to shell out the $$.

You think they will have a reduced price if all I need is CID unlocking?

No. The software does both at once.
