I activated my iPhone prior to copying all of my contact from my old phones sim card. Now I can't access my contact information on my old sim card. Anyone have any ideas how I can retrieve my old contacts from my old sim card?

I don't believe that the iPhone is capable of reading sim cards for contact info. You'll have to pop the sin card into your old phone again and copy those numbers into outlook (on windows). Then iTunes will read and copy them to iPhone from outlook. Good luck!

Yep...sad, but true...the iPhone will not copy SIM contacts. In fact, because I did not have my contacts listed on either MS Outlook or Yahoo...I ended up having to manually enter in over 400 contacts when I got the phone. I can assure you, that it was a total PITA doing it being a n00b to the iPhone keypad.

I will never do that again...

What prevented you from just entering them into Outlook if it was empty, then syncing it over the first time?

I didn't expect the iPhone to copy the information from the SIM. I did however expect that I would still be able to view the contacts information on my old phone. Unfortunately I am unable to view any of my contacts on my old phone and was stupid enough not to have backed up this information on my computer. Now I seem to have lost hundreds of phone numbers!

This is probably an issue with your old phone thinking that since the old sim is inactive it doesnt read the contacts.... try another phhone, or something with say airplane mode so it doesnt try to connect to the network.

there is no way that the network would erase all your numbers just cause you activated another sim card i think...
