Sony ercisson k810 - HELP! white screen

Hi I need some serious help / advice regarding my k810. I was trying to transfer some files from my phone to my lap top using a usb cable. However, I'm not certain but I think I inadvertantly transferred files from my lap top to my phone. Since this happened, my phone will turn on but displays a permanent white screen. I have tried using different batteries and a different sim card, but to no avail. The phone's display remains the same. I heard this described as the 'white screen of death'! I hope not! Is there anything I can do to re programme the phone via a download or something? I should point out I'm not very computer savvy, so plain english would be greatly appreciated in any replies offered.
