Nice! Hope they have a WiFi Curve coming!!

Posted by: WhiteBerryPearl

Do you think those who already have BB Pearls are going to be able to download some kind of software that will give them WIFI instead of having to go out and rebuy another phone?

-Sorry if I sound ignorant

No...its hardware dependant.

...and just when I got a Curve. Looks pretty slick.

I've been holding out...and onto my VZW phone! IT'S about time (whenever that is). Thanks for the link!

BTW, looks sweet, but why oh why can't the phone design heads realize that you need to recess the camera lens so it doesn't become a dust bunny hutch!

I hope t-mobiles curve with wifi turns out this way and not just locked down for Hotspot@home service.

Thats a sweet looking phone...I would love to have one.. whats the price going to be on that phone?

I don't like the color at all, but it seems to be...about the same to me, sans the Wi-Fi and slightly larger call keys. Anything I'm missing?

Posted by: jamkam

There's a LOT of Tmo talk about the first to get this...@home is looking better by the min.

Hmm...I'd read that Curve models would not be available with BOTH WiFi and GPS, as RIM had said there wasn't room inside the current case design for both.

I saw reports that a CDMA Curve is supposed to be out early 2008, so VZW/Sprint people who don't want the Suretype Pearl 2 coming in November may be getting some full QWERTY "consumer" type BB goodness too.

How did you determine it is thicker ? In the pictures, it appears to be the exact same dimensions.

Canadian BB users who have frequent access to WiFi will love this since BB data plans are so expensive here.

gotta tell you wifi on the berry is not so exciting unless you travel europe - I live in the GTA - try and find open wifi in this city - they want $8-!0 per day!!!!

Have a look at the list of free wifi points and then tell me you are excited. You cannot rely on open routers anymore - people are getting smart and using WEP or WPA.

Free WiFi hotspots

Your STILL MUST HAVE an activated BB data plan setup on your SIM with the provider (Rogers/Tmobile/AT&T/etc) in order to still receive your BIS/BES email, WiFi Browser etc.

Still it will NOT eat out of the monthly MB package that say Rogers has limited us on EDGE/GPRS; but TRUE unlimited over WiFi.

Bet ppl will be SERIOUSLY happy.

Yeah, I was more thinking for students who are on campus all day and have access to wifi all over campus or ppl who have it at work, as opposed to when going from location to location. If you spend most of your time away from the computer in one place and that place has wifi then it would be okay. But ya, i know what you mean about the lack of open routers these days.

Yeah, even if you didnt need an activated BB plan I'd still want one for when there isnt wifi available. But for those who spend most of their time away from the computer in an area with wifi (like a school campus, at a workplace with wifi, etc.) it'd be nice!

Yeah, can't complain about the Wi-Fi addition, but it's something that I wouldn't personally use. Sounds like some nice new features!
