Cellular One generally doesn't lock their phones, but just to make sure(and ppl can do this on most Sony-Ericssons) is press < * * < and it should come up with two menus, Network and Network Subnet. You following me so far? There should be a graphic by both of those menus of a lock. If the lock is open, your phone is currently unlocked, but if they are closed (which I highly doubt) then it is locked to that provider (Cellular One).

Hope this helps.

He said Cingular, not Cellular One. AT&T/Cingular LOCk their phones.

To the OP. Contact AT&T to unlock your phone, or check out HowardForums Marketplace.

Q: From whom did you buy the phone from?

Iv just succeeded using <**< to find out if my w300i is locked to t-mobile UK, but I'm a little confused as it very briefly flashes up saying "personalised with MNC2" then gives a list entitled "Personalise", but the list I have consists of 5 menus not 2! On the plus side the 1st 4 - Network, Network Subset, SP, & Corporate - all display the lock & better still they'r all 'unlocked', but the last 1 is "ESL" & locked & my Orange sim wont work in the phone, can any1 explain the above to me pls!

I am with Rogers who apparently doesn't even know how to unlock their own phones since they changed a few of the ways that they do things. I got as far as the <**< and found "network subset" unlocked, but "network" is stilll locked and is asking for an 8 digit code with the initials "NCK:"
How do I go about getting a hold of this 8 digit code?
