HTC Star Trek and memory card

to forum,

I just got a free upgrade phone, the HTC Star Trek, or as AT&T calls it the Cingular 3125.

It replaced a Motorola SLVR L7.

Should I be able to take the memory card from the Moto (which is loaded with music) and put it in the HTC and expect it to work right away?

Because it's not........

Thanks,

PK Davis

hrm....maybe the moto formatted the card in a way that WM5 doesnt recognize? i also have the 3125, pretty nice phone, just dont drop it, that little black button under the battery cover is notorious for failing causing the phone to reboot at random all day long

how large is the card? if it's too big that could also cause it, i think the moto phone supports a larger capacity card than the 3125 maybe?

It's not too large by todays standards. Actually it is what came with the phone. 512mb.

I was wondering about the format. Because the SLVR is an ITunes phone and like you say the 3125 uses WMA for the music player, if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks,

i think you are on the right track, 512MB is fine as both support more than that

probably need to move the files off the card to a PC, then put the card in and wipe it, then transfer files back?
