V3xx SMS Sent as MMS ?

I have a V3xx w/ Cingular's firmware and sometimes when I'm sending a normal text message (SMS) with no pictures or anything, but it's still sent as an MMS, resulting in an empty picture for the receiver, not to mention waisting my MMS bucket.

Can anyone tell me wh it's sending as MMS ? Is there a default or a key to change MMS/SMS mode?

I know when you add in a picture then it's automatically sent as MMS but I'm not attaching any picture at all..

Help please!

If the message is longer than say 160 characters it turns the SMS into an MMS.

Hm.. yea sometimes it's only a few words or character and it's still sent as an mms.

Yeah, that is really odd. I've never had that happen to me with a V3xx but each phone is different.

Yea I've poured over settings and what not. I wonder if there's anything in the seem table.

I had that happen once to a customer, do you have a lot of messages in your inbox or Outbox, if you do, then deleting some will fix it

Yep happens to me too, cleaning up your outbox and or inbox will do it

I usually see this happening when its 300+ msgs

I had about 400 in the inbox and 80 something in the inbox,

once it dropped below 300, it was a fixed, thank you guys!

Someone pls tell me why my motorola v3xx will not receive sms messages.. I was getting them fine until i used my current carrier at&t sim card to unlock a tmobile phone, unsucessfully, after several tries.I apparently got an incorrect unlock code from tmobile.
