okay so I have my unlock code but I cannot just turn the phone on with the foreign sim, it just sits there saying networked locked. I checked the internet and found #*xxxx*thenthecode* but the I think the one I found was for older models - anyone know what I need to enter preceeding the unlock code???

Check the marketplace forum for all inquiries regarding unlocking of a mobile fone. Viewing that forum will be able to provide you with information and/or help in regards to unlocking needs/services.

All HoFo users please note that there should be NO more
posting of unlocking inquiries in ANY forums except the marketplace forum.

if it's the wrong place - I have my code legit from my provider, but they thought it was just insert new sim enter code. It's not, there is a sequence of numbers preceeding that,

like *#060* (or something like that) shows the imei # ...I was just looking to see if there were a list of those entries.

Groebuck, I thought you had a CT56 which you hated and were trying to sell?

and I don't hate it - I hate the fact that you can't use the data cable to get anything on the phone, and I hate Siemens support for not knowing their own products. The battery life has not improved any but I have found out that the ct56 does not seem to have the battery life of the c56 (for some strange reason) - other than that it's a great little phone (espcially now since att and cingular give them away)..

anyways - I figured the codes were the same for the c56 and ct56 - since the get imei code is the same - I have found a bunch of codes but nothing to enter the unlock code (which I have). There is one posted but I don't think it is for the newer model siemens.

BTW no one was interested so I figure I would get it unlocked and use it as a backup for at&t and cingular when I travel personally.

You can email www.bongowireless.com for advise on the unlocking. Good luck.

Groebuck I am surprised to hear you found the battery life on the CT56 poor... when I tried the CT56 and the C56 I got great battery life out them both and found the no major differences in battery life between them

a few user reviews and the running theme seems to be poor battery life - I am not sure it's poor signal quality, but the ct56 seems to really hang on to a signal.

I have personally seen it go from full charge to half in a day, just sitting there - I have not made it out to cingular to complan.

Wow... when I used the CT56 It was fully charged and for the 3 days that I used it I didn't have to charge it once... I was pleased with it's battery life
