i have complete faith that apple will make the iphone what its suppose to be.

i don't know why apple choose to exclude a lot of features from the get go but i honestly believe it was for a reason.

apple has never sold sub-par products before and the iphone is not going to be the first. sure it has its things we dont like, but what phone is going to have EVERYTHING that EVERYONE wants?

granted personal ringtones, MMS, and sending one text message to multiple people is a given on most phones these days but i really think apple has something special up their sleeves that we will never figure out until its here.

the one thing the iphone has going for it is that it has more ups than downs. just be patient and you'll get it all.

i just can't freakkin' wait to use my iphone on tmobile though!

Sounds like you're trying to convince yourself more than anything haha.

It's a good device. Not great on the phone front (volumes and such), and missing some features (MMS for one), but it's on its way.

I have faith in apple to put out a good product. I have no faith in apple to adequately support or continue to develop that product. Oh, they'll continue to develop it I mean, but you won't see the upgrades unless you plunk down $600 again next year for iphone 2.0.

I'm pretty sure we haven't seen the last of the feature updates for the current hardware.

iPods have never been exactly "feature rich". For example, no FM. So Apple is not known for including everything and the kitchen sink.

You're kidding, right? You obviously chose to forget the Spindler era where they had a mind-numbing product line.

While you're at it, do a little research on Steve Jobs' pet project--the Lisa--and the evolution of the Macintosh.

Here's a hint: most Lisa comps are leading a happy existence in a landfill in New Mexco.

Apple--like all companies--has a history of bad products.

Imagine what the world would be like if Apple had in fact purchased Be? I remember checking news sites on a daily basis to see which way Apple would go after the Copeland fiasco. Did you?

I agree. I think apple will continue to update and improve the software. Hardware is out of the question for this version. A lot of people want everything to work and have all the features on the phone. I don't understand why people can't see that this is Apple's first product and they have done an excellent job for the first model. Apple will have better versions as the years move on. Better hardware and better software. People really should be patient, Apple will come through. Give them some time! It's only been 2 months. I have never had a phone that had the ease for updates. I have had some power phones such as Treos and HTCs they have very little room for improvement. With just the screen for the iPhone, it's unlimited.

I don't agree with unlocking the phone to other providers though. It's basically because Apple wants to control the device. And I agree with that. AT&T (Cingular) was the only provider to give Apple what they wanted which is control. Verizon, Sprint, and T-mobile did not want to give Apple what they wanted. If the iPhone was available for other providers there would be so much junk on it and provider labels everywhere. All that junk would slow the system down. Moreover, this would have taken Apple out of their character. Anyone who has Mac products or is very familiar with Steve Jobs should know that they like to do thing there way (free from junk). Maybe if the other providers gave Apple control all would be well. But that's wishful thinking. So you'll just have to wait until the 5 years are up. On the other hand, you can unlock it, but you will lose out on some of the features and Apple will lock the device soon, block unlocked iPhone from updates or who knows, they will definitely do something (IMO). The unlocked iPhone celebration will not last forever.

I would be happy if they made the phone a actual usable phone and added mms, cut, copy, paste and away to delete photos uploaded to the device on the device along with a save feature.
