When the software unlock comes out (if ever)....Once unlocked the phone will the phone still be unlocked if say i did a hard reset/Master reset of the device.

Or once reset to factory default will it need unlocking again

Thanks

Until the actual software unlock comes out we can only speculate.

I would say a hard reset and or a master reset would not affect the Unlock.

Where did you "hear" this? And what new firmware? I'm running 1.02 on two iPhones and my phones are perfectly fine.

He's probably talking about how a baseband upgrade will make you unlock your phone again if it was done by the geohot method. This only applies if apple updates the baseband on every update though.. there was no baseband update going from 1.01 to 1.02

Probably, but the way he states it it makes it seem like there's new firmware out that disables the hack. It's just not good if people who know nothing about the unlocking process come across a post like that and makes them more confused.

ATT has stopped legal threats, now they're spreading fear through disinformation!
