Blackjack acting odd(dopped calls, etc)

(btw I did some searching didn't find anything like this, so If I missed something, sorry )

So basically for the last month or so my BJ has been acting very odd. If I don't have 4-5 bars, there's a good chance I'll drop my call as soon as I pick it up or make a call. Also If I go to dial, it'll just sit and try to connect, and not dial out, or sometimes it'll take literally 30 seconds before it starts to dial, even w/ full E reception.(3g is fine)

If I have a decent 3g connection, I'm fine, everything works as it should. But as soon as I drop to Edge, or G, weather I have low, decent, or full reception I'll either drop the call or I won't be able to talk or hear the person on the other line for 2-10 seconds. It's quite annoying, and it never used to be like this. When I first got the BJ i was quite suprised how it would hold a low signal. but now

Settings I've changed:

-Network settings/ call order and mode. : I turned 3g off to save battery life, but turned it back on because of bad reception w/edge, etc. (Probably problem w/ city, area [St. Louis])

-Also turned media.net off, to turn of my connection to the internet. Basically, I got rid of my data plan, but the phone was still automatically connecting to the net and racking up charges (and don't flame for me having a pda/sf and not having a data plan, life changes)

Other than that I haven't changed anything. The problems seemed to start after I changed my Network setting to turn of 3g. I've changed all the settings back to defaults, and tried many others to see if it changed anything. This all started after I change the Network settings.

I'd like to hope it's a settings problem, not hardware

Probably going to need to do a Warranty Exchange on it..

It has been an issue and is discussed here:

http://forums.cingular.com/cng/boar...thread.id=32555

I started to have the same problems in June/July and I think it has something to do with either a network change and/or an antenna defect in the BlackJacks.
Anyway, after re-registering the IMEI# and replacing the SIM I am now trying the warrenty exchange route to see if I can get a working BJ.
