Whaasup guys . . . I really want to know what is the percentage one has to make to his/her own device when you are selling , see I have seen guys like Maevro and/or Mike who automatically deduct more $200 dlls from the suggested retailed price , I have seen people trying to sell TyTN , well not TyTN , but 8525 like they were unlocked and unbranded , and I have also seen people give away devices , what is a real good guide or percentage to keep in mind if you are on the re-sale market ??

P.S. I paid $525 for my Touch , it was the second week that it came out , then the price dropped and then dropped again , what is a fair re-sale price for a Touch this days ?? also what is the price for an HTC s620 (Excalibur)

I think it really all depends on many items. If we can meet up and you are giving me cash, I will lower the price vs. using something like PayPal where they rape you with fees.

Mike sells his phones low because he wants a quick sale, sometimes I think he sells them too low, but thats just my opinion. It is fantastic that he gives someone a great deal, but then it lowers the expected market for everyone else who wants to sell the same phone.

I think phones are a bad investment because they really go down in price, especially since so many new phones are released so damn often.

What bothers me is when people try to make money off of things they got for free like cooked WM6 ROMs and other things they got on sites like xda or Modaco.

I sold my Touch for $460 last week but I threw in a 4GB card. I think anything around $400 for a Touch is about normal right now. As for the excaliber, I can do some research and see what is average price is for them.

I always go to ebay, look at the Buy it now prices for a similar deivce then set my pricing from there. I want to be fair so the device sells but I don't want to give it away either.

I look at the BST for a general idea since I do things locally. It also depends on the condition and how long the product has been out. If it's been out for a year, then it would be lower than say a month or two out. My condition tends to be like new. Everyone that's bought a phone from me (providing I got it new) is fairly impressed how great the device still looks.

You might also decide to part out different things like memory cards, battery, etc. to get more money back or sweeten the deal.

Thanks you guys . . . I think I will stop buying devices

Haha, well these kind of devices depreciate kind of fast. I'm also trying to cut back. Maybe I'll do photography (expensive, but at least it won't depreciate as much).

look at the iphone went down. One day it was worth about $500 then it is now worth about 200 used. All this in less than 2 1/2 months.

I need to slow down also.
