Why does the iPhone get so much credit for threaded SMS?

Blackberry has had the same feature in their phone for a while...

Actually way before Blackberry, Palm was the original introducer in the Treo 600...

Yeah, Treos were the original. My guess for your question though is that Palms and Blackberrys have always been more of a business phone where as the iPhone appeals to a broader range of people. Therefore people that have never used threaded texting think it's a new concept and associate it with the iPhone....

Plus it looks way better (the colours) on the iphone.

as posted above it is due to the fact that you can only find it on Blackberry or Treo........and the key being that those are not typical consumer devices

As People People said, the pizazz! And marketing. Only Apple can take an old common feature and sell it as amazing and innovative. They have the ability to take a feature that has not reached it's full potential and get it there.

i acutally hate the sms on the iphone.

you cant tell how many sms you have, you cant delete per sms, only per conversations.

they just need to add multiple recipient sms

I remember when the treo 750 came out with threaded sms, and all the 8525 users added that functionality, I was one of them. Yeah the threaded sms rocks. Apple should have added a smiley face like the treo tho.
