Modifying firmware

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I know it's possible, I believe there are some members of the forums here who have successfully done it too.
I need to know if it is possible, and how to go about starting to learn about modifying motorola firmware.

Money is not an issue, I will buy any software that is necessary to do this.

What I would like to be able to do is this:
1) Pull firmware off a phone -- done
2) Modify firmware (in what manner is not important) -- need to do/know how.
3) Put firmware back onto phone -- know how

I realize there is a lot to learn, but I'm willing to do the research necessary if someone will point me in the right direction. perhaps a tutorial (even a quick one) of a previously completed firmware hack would work.

Thanks.

If that's so, would you like references to places that will do this for you?

1) Unfortunately, the E815 is not as popular as a Razr, which there are tons of stuff. 2) Verizon phones are HARD to mod.

motox.info, home page top, gots lots of stuff to get u started.
