I can get a new blackjack through Premier for 199.99. Is that good seeing that I just upgraded my phone back in February? I am so confused on what data plan I can use? Do I have to get the expensive PDA plan? I want to surf internet, text some and use gmail... Whats best without breaking the bank. Already have family talk plan. I am so confused with BJ data controversy.

While Cing/ATT would prefer you to use their PDA Connect Unlimited or whatever it is, you should be fine with the MediaMax 200, which is unlimited internet/CV/+200 Texts for $19.99. If you're ever trying to do something with CS, and they ask you about it, just tell them you're using the plan for Cingular Video, and you'll be fine.

I'm wondering if anyone has actually done this with the Blackjack. This is the closest thread I've found to my question (the "Search" function isnt working for me at the moment).

I've tried to complain to cingular on several occasions, and this is the third time I've read on various forums where someone says a lesser dataplan, (such as theMEdia plans or Smartphone plans) will theoretically work the same way with the Blackjack - but never anyone who knows first hand.

I too think 30-40 a month for the only PDA Plans they offer is ri-*******-diculous.

Thanks.

What about the smartphone connect plan they have online......29.99 unlimited data + 1500 texts

Their site's fine print lists the BJ as a PDA (even though Microsoft calls it a smartphone) and requires a PDA Plan, and their CS Reps say the same and reference "because it has a QWERTY keyboard".

So far, I dont see anything stopping me from adding a Smartphone or MEdia plan via the website though, I just want to make sure it will actually work and not just bill me for this added feature along WITH pay-per-use data.

The BlackJack has to be signed up with a PDA plan, ATT doesn't consider it a smartphone.

Edit: Someone beat me to it.
