Just to clarify, is the following correct?

When your blackjack shows an indicator of ___ on the top of the home screen, you are getting ____ data speeds.

G = GPRS
E = Edge
H = 3G (HSDPA)

I just noticed this morning a G on my phone, and haven't seen that before, so I'm guessing GPRS is what it stood for.

You're correct, G for GPRS, E for EDGE, U for UTMS, and H for HSDPA

Ahh, I didn't know the blackjack distinguished between UTMS vs HSDPA. thanks!

I'm not sure if it does, I just know from using a Universal in Europe, it did have the UMTS "U" icon.

There is no U for UMTS on the BlackJack, it's 3G. H still is for HSDPA.

H indicates an ACTIVE HSDPA connection, you can have HSDPA coverage and if you are not using data it just displays 3G.

My BlackJack (running the latest AT&T Rom) displays G for GPRS, E for EDGE, and 3G. I do not know if it can distinguish between UMTS and HSDPA as my whole trip (las vegas to san francisco and down to LA) whenever I had 3G it only said 3G no U or H.

Im sorry I should have been more clear, the "H" only displays on WM6.

What he said, it it a WM6 feature

Hmm, I have a Wizard so I've only ever seen the G and E icons, so I was just guessing a bit.
