Hello everyone,
I have a nokia 5300 lilac edition from rogers that I have tried to un-brand and reset the phone to factory via nemesis service suite as demonstrated in this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbrCJ-SHhOM
I went through all the steps, however now when the phone starts up I get the nokia hands like I should, but right after is the rogers logo like before, also the rogers music player is still on there
. I do however now have the ability to use MP3's as ringtones, and the PTT and Instant message options now show up in the menu (they weren't there before)
When going through the steps in the video my product number was 0547983
instead of the one shown in the video, so i took a chance and COMPLETLY CHANGED the whole product number to the one in the video, other than that I followed all the steps shown and ended up with my phone as described above.
So if anyone out there has encountered a similar scenario with a lilac 5300 please let me know
Thanks
Steve

Worked fine for me, I just did it with my room mates lilac. Had the same product code as your, I changed it completely to the one in the video. I think you must have missed one of the steps somewhere...

Thanks Ninja fox, was it a Rogers branded Lilac? did it have the rogers music player on it? and Lastly, If it did have the rogers music player on it, does it now use the default Nokia music player after following the instructions in the video.
Thanks for your reply.
Cheers

Hey Steve,
It was indeed a Rogers Lilac and included the rogers music player. I followed the video precisely and now it starts up without the Rogers logo and in the menu the music player is the Nokia player.
As a note, the Rogers Media player is still on the phone because currently, if I select the "Music" softkey from the main screen, it opens the Rogers player. I assume this will be a simple matter of redirecting the softkey to the Nokia player. So if you were only using the softkey and not the menu, that could be your problem perhaps?
