Thats how you get your "posting numbers" up to make you look knowledgeable without actually contributing or helping someone.

"Ding"!! We have a winner!!

Ahem...

Actually, I was too ignorant to sync my address book with my first iPhone...so I ended up having to enter all of them (200+) manually. And...I was a virgin to the iPhones virtual keypad...so it took forever. Grrrrrr....

Glad I don't have to do that again. Neither do you...add them to your address book, then sync with your iPhone at activation time. Voila!!

I just did this with a Samsung Blackjack to an iPhone.

You need iTunes, Microsoft ActiveSync and Outlook, and Jeyo Mobile Companion.

I'll post instructions later if you don't already get the idea of what to do.

200 posts, been here a year...and that gives you the right to belittle people and act like a diva. Clearly, you have forgotten that you were a n00b once and asked seemingly silly questions. Perhaps you need to practice what you preach...

Depending on your phone, only way to get the SIM contacts to your iPhone is copy them to the old phone then export them somehow (the somehow depends on the make/model handset) to either Outlook or Address Book

Each phone mfgrusually has some sort of utilty to extract the contacts.

Oh, quick caveat: Don't put your SIM into the iPhone till you copy over the data. If it's anything like the Treo, any/all data on the card that cant be used/read by the phone will more than lilely be lost
