Is it me, or when receiving a text message the iphone doesn't tell you the time it arrives. It only shows the time for outgoing messages....Is there a certin setting for this, or was it something apple missed?

as far as I know, I don't think so...

I wondered the same thing a few days ago, it's kind of inconvenient.

It seems to be unpredictable. I am look at the conversations I had w/ different people, and for one person is like as you said. While for another person, I got the time stamped on every dialog, on mine and hers.

Hah. Interesting.

It only shows the time after there has been a break in text messaging the person. If you are going back and forth with someone it doesn't show the time but when there is no response from either person for a while....based on my conversations it seems to be 15 minutes of no activity and it will show a time again.

Now, that totally make sense. That does correspond to the scenario of two people I was texting to. Thanks for sharing.

There are alot of basic features that the iPhone seems to be missing If it wasn't for that beautiful interface....
