V3xx Alarm Volume Has Zero Effect on Volume?!

Why is this? Maybe I just have a defective unit, but I've noticed that no matter what volume I set my alarms at, they always ring, tone, or whatever at the same volume level. Anyone else notice this or know anything about this?
