Help with the Dash

Well I have been searching and reading as much as I can but I would like someone with a bit more experience to possibly chime in and help me out.

I am getting ready to step up to a smart phone. The two phones I am considering is the Dash and the Blackberry curve.

I have Cingular so the Curve would work right out of the box. A friend has the Dash through T-Mobile and I like it as well.

I can get the T-Mobile Dash unlocked, and I can get the HTC S621 also unlocked.

What would it take for me to use the dash or the 621 on cingulars network?

Also what is the difference between the dash and the 621? There is a $70.00 difference between the two so what justifies that $70.00??

Any help would be appreciated

You must get the phone Sim unlocked and enter the AT&T network settings to get everything working.

The only difference is that the dash is T-Mobile branded and the S621 is not. They have the same hardware so other then some minor branding and software difference, they are the same phone.

so if I buy the dash Unlocked I should have no problem just putting my sim card in adjust the settings and be good to go.

As for the dash vs. the 621 I should just save the $70.00 and get the unlocked dash.

Yes on both questions. You can get S621 if you but you would be better of getting a Dash and flashing it with Unbranded S620 WM6 Rom.

Thanks for the info it really helped.

I do have one other question, I am familiar with flashing phones and hex editing a bit from previous experience with a few iDen nextels and my Motorola Razor, would flashing the HTC be about the same? Meaning I would have to use software and a data cable hooked to my computer to do it?

Flashing a dash is a bit diffrent. If your phone is CID unlocked then you can just run the official HTC update. If it is not, then you will need to bypass CID unlock or flash it with the update that is released by T-Mobile.
