Browsing questions -- 9300i

I am a recent 9300i owner, so if my questions are too basic, please understand.

1. I find the included Nokia branded browser really slow even on Wifi. So I downloaded the Opera Mini beta browser and it is much better. Problem is anytime I try downloading a file by clicking a link, the phone opens up the Nokia browser. Kind of painful. Is there a way to set the new browser as the default for everything?

2. Related question -- is there a way to set the Web Key on the keyboard to activate the new browser instead of the bundled one?

3. Any tips to improve browsing experience would be great. I am finding it a bit difficult to navigate pages. Any kb shortcuts or another browser suggestion would be great. I played around with a iphone a few times, so maybe the touch screen experience (brief as it were) spolied me :-)

Unrelated questions --

4. Do I need data service to SEND faxes?

Thanks for any responses.

Some of the positives I see rightaway--

1. I absolutely love the size of this phone. It is perfect. It is definitely NOT too big, and not small. I hate little phones with little keys but would definitely not want a gigantico.
2. Excellent phone.
3. The speaker for playing music is really good.

I will answer your questions one at a time as I either figure them out, or give up!

The only thing you can do is to use the MY KEY and set that up to Open the OPERA MINI Sorry. While it may be possible to HACK the actual WEB Key, it is out of my realm and is certainly not doable by the average end user.

While there may be a few shortcuts available (I did not see any BTW and have been on the NET looking at pages for this phone for 5 days dealing with a WiFi issue) you have to face the music, pretty much what you see is what you get. This is almsot a 2 year old phone and the layout of the screen, as well as the fact that cell phone screen always present this issue (almost always) and you just need to learn to live with the quirks of your particular device. This is one of the reasons that everyone wanted an iPHONE was for the Surfing experience.
