700p Keyboard no worky

My phone fell (yes, it got up and jumped right out of my belt case

) about two feet onto carpet the other day. I thought no biggie, it's taken worse and kept tickin'.

However now about 1/2 of the keys on the keyboard don't work. The Home, Email, and the center button are the only keys that work in the upper portion, and only a few of the letter keys work. Touchscreen is fine (thank godness!)

I've taken it apart and tried to re-seat the keyboard cable connection, doesn't seem to make a difference, although the specific keys that didn't work will sometimes start working, but once it's put back together it's the same.

I'm thinking my only option is to replace the keyboard?

I can't do a hard reset because the power/end and up button don't work.

Any ideas? Where's a good place to find a replacement keyboard circuit?

Well, I'm keeping my eye on several Ebay auctions, hopefully I can find one for parts pretty cheap.

Anything else I should consider before replacing the keyboard circuit board?

I've found that PDAparts.com has ok pricing... thinking of getting a new screen and front case. The damn solitaire game made me scratch up the screen from dragging cards... lol

Yeah, Solitaire has me sucked in as well - gives me something to do at work

I found a 680 replacement keypad board; it looks like the same keypad as the 700p?

Will that one work?

e-mail pdaparts... :-) they might tell you... or look at the part #'s that they list...

I'm being told No - a 680 keypad board will not work in a 700p.

Still holding out for eBay, but some ppl are paying $120+ for broken phones!!! Not this guy . . .

I don't know if it will . . .

The 700wx has the Windows button where the Calendar button is on the 700p; I wonder if that means it's wired differently on the circuit board . . . ?

I'll email them and ask.
