iPod Touch in-store availability

I was looking over at MacForums, and many people in the US are reporting availability in BestBuys in the US. Many have already purchased theirs.

Anyone having any success in Canada? I just got off the phone with apple (since I already pre-ordered) and was told...wait for it... "your order will be shipping in 11 days" (basically the 28th)

The Apple store in Portland, OR (Washington Square Mall) has em. I was planning on getting one before I got an iphone.

I was in line at the apple store. I somehow got to the store an hour b4 they opened, but by the time they did there was a small line. People were buying the ipod touch, and people asking for them on the phone were being told they didnt have any lol.

What I don't understand is if Apple quotes its pre-order customers a Sept 28th release date and it ships stuff to retail stores, why doesn't it force retailers not to let the iPods sell until the 28th? It's frustrating because at this rate we will wate forever!

BTW I'm in Canada.. wishing I could have smacked that Apple.ca rep upside the head

That was my plan too. I've been waiting for iPod Touch impatiently. Then iPhone price cut come out and finally all this software unlocking stuff. So i spend my $300 on 4GB iPhone instead of Touch.

If it weren't such a pain to ship to Canada and stuff, I would probably get an iPhone too although I wouldn't activate it with Rogers (GSM carrier here) so it's not really pointtful. I'd rather have double the space and half the thickness

The Jacksonville Apple store sucks. They have the crappiest attitude when you call to check. They tell you they have about 20 so i leave from work immediatly (work about 5 mins down the road) and when i get there im told they never had any. Ill ask for DAVE or whoever the tool was that told me this, and he/she is at lunch or not available. Just seems that store employess dont talk to one another except for covering their butts.

At the Armdore, PA store, they have some as well as the King of Prussia, PA store.

Ardmore store rocks. The associates are actually knowledgable and nice. On Friday, I went into the King of Prussia store and it was like HELL. EVERYONE had an iPhone Credit that they were dying to use
