HTC s710 vox muted help problem!

I've searched but couldn't find a solution. I just got this phone and when I get or make a phone call, I can hear the other person but they can not hear me. The ONLY time they can ever hear me is when I plug in the headset. I've tried a hard reset but to no avail. I cleaned out the headset output but that didn't help either. Anyone have any ideas?

an update.. the video recorder AND voice notes do NOT record the audio... I guess there is a problem with the mic.
