iPhone Calendar?!

So I've been trying to sync the calendar on iPhone with google calendar. I know one option is to sync google calendar with outlook, then sync itunes with outlook. Is there any OTHER way or even an APP to sync the iPhone with google Cal? I dislike the outlook / google cal. sync....anyone find a work around?
