hello,

i'm from canada..

i flashed my se w810i with this... fc-flashfile-v2_011007 everything was great...

i went to california for a vacation... instead of paying roaming charges i borrowed my brothers at&t sim card so i can use my phone locally.

turn it off, remove my card, inserted his, turn it on...

white flash happened...

please, how do i fix this?

re flash it. search the forums and youll get all the answers you need. I personally use far + sefp. fastest for me. if you need the files pm me and I'll be happy to send them.

that's what i thought...

so i flashed it... 3 times in total. why 3x, you ask? well it's because this time i don't have the flash menu...

really weird because i can change themes but when i go to main menu, it;s the old default one.

i don't remember doing an extra step to enable the flash menu when i flashed it long time ago.

i used phonexs (went fine) twice, and xs++ (went fine) once. but i still have no flash menu.

am i missing something here?

try to flash it using the instructions here http://www.howardforums.com/showpost.php?p=10206260
far+sefp it's a little more in depth, but it always works for me. no brute force or anything. all the files are there too.

if you dont want to try that you can rename your .thm files to .tar files and use tugzip to extract them. then check the .xml file and verify that its pointing to the .swf file. you might just need to rename the .swf file.

if that doesnt do it then check your customize.xml file and make sure you have enabled flash themes. this is where far + sefp comes in handy. you don't have to reflash everything to replace one file, you just replace the one file.

-the link you gave me it's for cingular only? or is it for any carrier? my phone is from rogers.

-the renaming thing... i did that but it didn't work

-where do i find this customize.xml file?

the really weird thing is... i didn't have to do any of this extra steps before... i used phonexs, when it's done... it's done. i got my flashed phone with flash menus, etc... i don't know what happened.

i thought you were on Cingular, sorry about that. Yes you can use it on any W810i, however, it will brand your phone as Cingular. The difference between your two different flashes is probably the pack you downloaded. It may not have a customized xml file, it might be missing the proper .swf files, could be a dozen different things.

you can also download the files I uploaded and extract them all to somewhere like C:\w810i. Go into the folders into .\Cingularw810i\Customizations\SWF
and copy all of those files over to the phone xs folder entitled files_to_upload\tpa\preset\system\desktop
make sure you delete everything in that folder before you copy the new files into it. Then go into \Cingularw810i\Customizations\THM and copy all of those files onto your memory card into the themes folder. then re-flash.

if that doesn't work you need a different firmware file. Your customize.xml hasn't been customized (if that makes sense).
