As the title says, looking at buying the Blackjack. Now, obviously the dolts at the Cingular store cant explain this, and now, neither can CS.
So, what is the difference between the Media Max, PDA Connect and Smartphone Connect plans? Can I use one specifically, or any of the three, or what?
All Im basically looking to do is 3g internet access and access to email (mainly gmail and yahoo). Which plan would be cheapest and most effective for me?

This is the most popular topic on the AT&T PDA/Smartphone forum, so I recommend searching the threads for more info than what I'm going to give you.
Here's a great search link

Bottom line is that AT&T's position is that the Blackjack is a PDA (even though it's actually a smartphone) and requires no less than the $40 PDA Personal Max (or $40 PDA Connect unlimited) unlimited data plan.
This means that Media Max 200 ($20), and Smartphone connect are not allowed.
This has been a hotly debated issue in respect to the Blackjack specifically
Here are some thread related to this:
Using Media max as a PDA data plan
Final word on blacjkack data plans
So the answer is PDA Personal Max, Smartphone Max, and Meida Max are technically 100% identical except for the price, name, and what devices you're allowed to use them on.
PDA Personal max is exactly $10 more than the comparable Media Max and Smartphone Max plans.
There is another older data plan called PDA connect unlimited that also has the isp.cingular access point which typically only comes with tethering plans.
More on this here:

Note that the data plan portion of this page is outdated and pre-dates the PDA Personal max plan which is just like media max.
But the rest of the info is still good.
