I have a 6133 in which I unlocked and had the software updated to a unbranded 6126.... I was able to set up the internet and mulimedia messaging through the nokia site where they send you the text message to have the phone set up automatically, everything works fine except third party applications, such as opera mini and gmail.. it tells me that i need to set them up... i need to know what i need to do to set my third party aplications to access media net or what ever it needs to access...

No one seems to know... AT&T thinks I'm stupid and I don't know what I'm talking about.. If anyone has any idea, I will try it....

i dont understand what is happening. when you open google maps it says the app is not set up properly?

Sorry I wasn't real specific, I'm just agrivated with this phone and At&t...
One of the apps is Gmail, one of apps that i've tried to use, it's all the apps, the phone is not allowing my apps network access because of a setting,
I can open the app, and the phone prompts to "Allow network access." I hit yes, then an error message comes up that says "This program requires a data connection. Please contact your carrier, or visit the Gmail FAQ on your computer for more info."
I know it's not an issue with the specific app, it's all apps... For some reason I haven't set up something correctly to allow my apps access to the network...
I need to know what I need to do to get my apps to access the network...

i think i know whats going on. i usedthe 6131 for a year which is almost the same phone. go into your settings and find where the access points are defined. find the one that uses media net, and click the options on it, then set as default. this might fix your problem.

nope, tried that.... doesn't work....

try to go under configurations in settings and setup your access point there. make sure to set whatever one you want as the default or preferred access point.

Having the same problem with a 6126, only its with application data access. It wont let me enable it. Any ideas?

As a last resort i would setup a new access point manually. Start all over fresh and see if that access point works. I'm sure this problem can be fixed somehow.

there is probaly more than one Access Point setting you require
one is mMode which is WAP, there is another one called MediaHome or something im guessing, you may need that one too cus Google mail and google maps requires internet packet data to work not wap packet data..

Try 1.
I think you need to find the gmap.jar file itself using gallery or application.. either its in your memory card or phone memory then press left key(options) the file should be highlighted.. then select option "application access" then "network access" there is a field there that says "first time only" and "always allowed" .. select any of the two..
Try 2.
I think your phone has been flash to nokia 6126 which unfortunately for some reason my old nokia n-gage when the firmware was flash was then unable to use network capabilities.. It is likely your phone has the same issue.. And someone told me it was an issue about the firmware itself..

I've been having a similar issue. I can run GMAIL with out issue, but I installed it recently, so you made just need an updated version of GMAIL.
However, I run into problems when trying to run third party applications that do not have a Nokia Security Certificate. I've been trying to find an IRC client for my phone (6126), but so far none of them are signed. If anyine knows how to make this phone run third party applications without a sercurity certificate, please let me know. Or, if any one knows of an IRC client that will run on this phone, please let me know.
