Okay....I got a hold of one of Seidio's OEM Extended Batteries and put it through the all the tests. Bottom line, even though it did not pass the controlled tests, in the field I love it. It doesn't perform miracles, but it does give me that extra umph to make it thru a full day, even with my power hungry habits. Take a look at the full review:

There is little doubt that the Mogul (aka PPC-6800 / Titan / XV6800 / Telus P4000) can deliver a wide variety of times between charges, ranging from 5 hours to 2 days… totally depending on how you use your phone. If you are a heavy user, the Mogul may only give you half of a day’s use before needing to be charged again. In an attempt to help meet the needs of those power hungry users, Seidio has released an extended OEM sized battery for the PPC-6800 ($44.95). I have tested it and found some unexpected surprises.....

So is this battery the fat one that almost doubles the size of your phone and gives you a different back plate?

Sorry it took me so long to respond....I was on the road all last week.

To answer your question, No. This battery is the same size as the battery that came with the phone so you are able to use the stock battery plate with it.

would i be right to assume that this will work when (if) verizon releases this phone? or would i have to wait for them to make a version of it too

Yes...when and if VZ finally releases the 6800, it will work just fine with it as well.

Hey Hobbes (I assume you go by "HobbesIsReal' at PPCGeeks... I'm "answerman" there too)...
I had actually ordered this battery even before I received my PPC-6800 from Alltel, based on how Seidio batteries had worked for my 6700. Actually, I put the Seidio battery in as soon as I got the 6800 and haven't even used the stock battery. It's been working great for me.

In your review, you made reference to a "conditioned" state. Can you elaborate on what that means? I have been looking for a way to "condition" batteries ever since I got my 6700 a couple of years ago. Are you simply referring to letting it charge and discharge a few times, or is there a solution similar to the "reconditioning and recalibrating" method that I use on my laptop?

Great review, by the way.

Yup, I am HobbesIsReal over at PPCGeeks, WMExperts, PDAPhoneHome, and TreoCentral.

There is debate on whether it is healthy to fully run your battery dry. I think most would say now-a-days it is not a good idea. Maybe Seidio could share their official view on that debate? Anyways to answer you question about conditioning, Seidio states that it will take around 6 charging cycles for the battery to reach it's intended potential. I did this by running my battery down to 15-20% and then fully recharged it. Basically I made sure that I did not continually just top it off for the first week or so.

I am glad you liked the review.

does anyone have any experience with this battery?

Its 1600mah compared to 1650 from seidio, but it's also half the price. Since it comes with a 30 day money back policy i think i am going to give it a try.

Have you given that battery a try yet?

yes i've been using it for about a month or so now.

Performance varies, but i've never had it last more then 2 days, except now. This is the first time i've EVER had this battery last 3 days without charging and it says it's still 40% charged.

Let me make this clear....i haven't charged the phone for 3 days and it's saying the battery is still at 40%. Yesterday it was saying 60%. The day before that it was saying 70%. And in the month+ since i've had this battery this is the first and only time the battery has gone past 2 days.

I haven't used the phone much over the last 3 days but the lower usage isnt enough to explain 3 days of charge...and if it continues, i'll get 4 days out of it.

I have no idea why suddenly the battery is performing so well. Maybe it's an xmas miracle The only explanation i can think of is maybe it took this long to condition the battery? Or it's just some very weird fluke and it'll go back to not lasting more then 2 days after the next charge.
