Mp3 player that can make phone calls

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I don't talk much on the phone. I started out looking for a simple phone but my mp3 player died in my arms last Thursday and now am looking for an mp3/ music phone.

I like the Upstage and upcoming Vogue but the upstage says it only handles 2gb cards.
What I'm looking for:
-4gb/8gb capacity/support
-good music interface/easy access
-not that big
-good reception. although I don't use my phone a lot, i want to have clear calls.

I live in North America but don't mind using 1900 bands. I don't need internet, text messaging, long battery. I hear people complaining about how their battery only lasts a day. To me, that's good. I would prefer a bar phone, but if it's a good slider/flip, I won't mind. Also, not a big fan of touchscreen. Vogue is the exception.

Check out the Samsung m620, I actually saw this phone and thought it was pretty darn cool. It's a bar phone (just like you wanted) and one side is just a regular phone and when you flip it over it's an MP3 player with touch controls.

-4gb/8gb capacity/support
**No idea about the capacity at all, but it does have expandable memory, so there's a 50% chance it will go to 4 or 8 gb! (it either will or it won't! lol! Ask the dealer they should know!)

-good music interface/easy access
**You flip the phone over for music access, can't get much easier than that!

-not that big
**Saw it in store, it's very nice, not big at all, slim too!

-good reception. although I don't use my phone a lot, i want to have clear calls.
**no idea. It is a samsung, so I havent' specifically heard complaints about samsung reception.

Hope that might help you out! (and as for the names you used, in the fliers here in canada they dont' use the names very often, just the model numbers, and I dont' specifically find out the names of the phones because I didn't know they had names until I started coming to these forums, so if this phone is one of the ones you mentioned, sorry for repeating something you already knew!)

Thanks for the reply. The m620 is also known as the Upstage here. Although since I posted my original post, I'm beginning to think 2gb of music is enough. I'm going to read some more reviews about the Upstage (m620) and it's gsm brother the f300. Because I don't know if I'll have a postpaid or prepaid account.

I've also been looking at the w950 and w810, both from SE. Any non-se phones to consider, that are not to expensive (not above $300 unlocked)?

Sony Ericsson W610i or W810i if you want a good music player and a great phone. 2gb card works just fine in there. Phone overall is wonderful, easy to use, and pretty durable. I have a W810i and I love it. The camera in it is probably one of the best 2 megapixel cameras in a phone today.

Along with all of the above, the reception is excellent. My 2GB card currently holds 370 songs, which is not too bad...
