iPhone not being recognized

It seems my iPhone sometimes is not being recognized by iTunes.
Also, I have noticed that if my phone is on Wifi, and the WiFi somehow disappears in my house .. (like it has been doing lately), it doesn't automatically go back to EDGE.
Anyone notice that?
