So as I posted on here, I bought an 8 gig refurb off of Apple's website, called in, they wanted to "fix" it and send it back while I was in my 15 day trial...

Well they didn't fix it, said they couldn't replicate the problem and just sent it back.

Called back in because I am not amused, told him I had a refurb and wanted to exchange the device for a new one, and there WAS an apple store relatively close, but I (and made sure I pointed this out) I didn't think apple stores stocked refurbs for exchanges...

Didn't phase the guy apparently so I have an appointment tonight to go swap my refurb for a brand new 8 gig at an apple store.

Very nice.

Hum, I would have thought the Apple stores should have been ok with exchanging the refurb with whatever 8 GB they have, which in the case of the store, would have to be new.

The way I see it, a one-year warranty by Apple is a one-year warranty by Apple. Am I wrong?

Well, the way I figured it is I bought a refurb, so I was more than happy to accept them replacing it with a "new" refurb, but I won't turn down a NIB one either.

Good to hear it worked out for ya, though. I'm getting my refurb 8 giger today so hopefully everything is okay! Otherwise I hope my local Apple store will take care of it... heh

I had the exact same thing happen to me with my repair...sent it in...couldn't replicate the problem, so they just sent it back.

I ended up taking it back to the store and getting a replacement.

Glad to hear they took care of you though.

Well this is above what I was expecting...I tihnk they're just throwing it to me since I have to drive an hour and a half to get to the bloody store.
